Has the Time come?

Over the past week I've takin a lot of shit from people some I think was just right down hate and the other I think was jealousy maybe one in the same I don't know. It's made me stop and question why do I keep doing this blog or even posting on facebook? I used to love coming here and writing something but now its like this anit no fun anymore. I let people take away something I used to love.

I never come on here to do any harm to anybody unless they needed it then it was only my opinion I wasn't asking anybody to agree just look at something at a different point of view. I started this blog for in and it turn out not only to help me but other gay kids out there. The emails and comments that I got showing support made me keep on writing. I thought wow my words are helping some people this is good!

Speaking of writing I never claimed to be well written hell I know I'm just a country boy from Georgia and yeah I didn't do well in school. So I know my grammar just sucks and I use words a different way but it's what I know and it hurts when people keep throwing up in your face about your writing and how stupid you are. Yeah I know its only a few people but it hurts just the same.

I know I'm not brightest person around but I never did anybody harm with this blog only tried to help. I thought if I told my stories it may help some other gay kids out there who were looking for something. Thought maybe if there going through there personal hell and came across my blog they would see there not alone. I'm tired people of hate or the jealousy
whatever you want to call it.

I think it's time for Ryan to walk away from all this I know who my friends are my support team. I'm just tired of fighting with people tired of the negative shit just cause people don't like the way I write. I haven't totally made up my mind on walking away yet but it's leaning toward that. I just wanted to give my friends and true fans of this blog a heads up if that's what I do. I'll have the answer by the end of the week.

Take Care!

Ryan, I really enjoy reading your blog. And I will admit that sometimes it is hard to decipher what you are trying to say BUT I always keep reading it until I get what I think you were trying to convey. However, your spelling and grammatical errors will NEVER make me stop reading your thoughts and stories. I hope you keep on doing it.

Ryan.. as you know I have a web site and 2 blogs.. I have been online for over 17 years and believe me there have been many times i have wondered if I was doing any good by staying involved. I received an email from a young man who told me he and his family go to my site at least once a week to visit a section that I had set up several years ago for a friend who was killed in an accident. He told me that they need to re-read the words to give them strength to keep moving forward.
As a result, I've decided to maintain the sites .. altho It may be a while between updates.. I keep them because there is someone that needs to read them.

Your blog is no different. There are many who need to read your words as you put them. They are a reflection on you and your past.. where you came from, the problems and achievements that are posted are from your heart and are very real. You may never know just how many you are helping. Yes there are always a few jerks that always want to cause problems... I have never understood why but they are there. I just ignore those dregs of humanity. When someone criticizes you for the way you express yourself or shows hate... they are just proving their shortcomings and lack of intelligence.
The love in you heart and the caring you show far out does their hate and criticisms.
The decision has to be yours but many here love and care for you.

You are a remarkable man. I'll miss you if you stop, but I understand that you don't need to keep letting yourself be hurt by people who don't love God and so they hate you.

Dear Ryan----I wish I knew the answer for you, to either make the haters go away or to help you just ignore them.

Please don't stop blogging because of negative comments. If you are really tired of it for other reasons, then ok. I just don't want to see you quit something important because of a few nasty idiots.

Your true blog friends and fans don't care that you don't write like an English Major! It's WHAT you have to say that counts, and WHO you are, which is an awesome guy with a big heart and a great sense of humor, and wonderful ideas and opinions on a lot of subjects.

I hope you can feel all the love out here for you, and try to ignore the sad, stupid people who just don't count!

    {{{{{BIG HUGS}}}}}

    much love, elise

Hi Ryan, Don't stop blogging because of the negative stuff that a few people have to say. I enjoy reading about your thoughts and experiences in exactly the way you say and write them. I hope you keep on blogging because you have a lot more fans than haters.
    Hugs!

  6. And take care yourself Ryan, and whosoever said you weren't the brightest person around, just skip him!

All I can say is that I remember coming here back when you got a comment or two. Now you get lots. The things I've discovered by reading lots of blogs and comments is that when you start to get lots of commenters, some of them simply don't agree with you no matter what. And they aren't always nice about how they tell you that. As for me, I'm a lot more interested in content - the thoughts, the ideas - not the grammar or spelling or punctuation. That's just part of who you are and part of what makes your writing yours.

Please don't let a minority of detractors take away your fun of writing your blog. We all need exposure to different points of view, and while I don't always agree with you, what I will do is always be polite and mannerly about how I respond to something I disagree with. Too bad the others can't do that, too. But try to look at them this way: While you were obviously brought up with manners and couth, and a mind of your own, others were not so lucky. So you just have to ignore the boors and idiots and the ones who just don't get it.

My hope is that this post is a rant, and it's now out of your system so you'll stick around and ignore the haters as much as you can.

    Peace <3
    Jay

Ry, its your blog, and its your life, so spell it and say it any way ya want.

I dont get many comments on my own blog, but every now and then, someone will let me know my blog was helpful to them.

It feels good to be able to help someone. No one can ever steal that moment from me.

thanks yall your helping me make my mind!

Hi Ryan...I always read your blog & I never have any problem understanding what you are trying to say or get across and I'm sure your blog has helped many people with similar problems and issues...your opinions & thoughts are what are important and not the grammar. The matter in which you express yourself gives you character and makes you the loveable person you are...would never want you to change from being a country boy.
I know the final decision is up to you but I know your blog does a lot of good and a lot of people enjoy it, so would hate for a few haters to destroy that. Take care my friend :)

I know I'm late to this post. But I think you would miss your blog eventually. I know it sounds cliche to say "don't let them get to you." But it's true.

I had three vicious woman authors come after me last week. One called me dumb (I can link to you in private; I don't want to give the old gutter bitch any attention in public) and trashed me in public. I've had death threats I've never spoken about. The Internet can be a nasty place, with a lot of wing nuts. But the main reason why you blog is why you need to consider before you stop blogging. And I don't think a handful of wing nuts is worth it.

Whatever you decide is fine. But I hope you decide to continue.

Ryan in the past I messaged you several times in appreciation for your blog.

A true friend accepts you as you are and doesn't ask you to change. I accepted you as you are and I wouldn't want you to change.

I don't go to your blog for your grammer or whatever if I want the proper English I would go to an English class.

I follow your blog for your insight but mostly because you are a friend and an inspiration to me You claim to be a dumb old country boy from Georgia but I see you are well educated in many other areas besides grammer.

To blog or not to blog is your decision. I would like to have you keep at it because you are an inspiration and a strength. You are doing something I could never do which make you a stronger and better person than I. I would like you to keep it up but know that sometimes you have to walk away so if you walk I will respect you and support you in that if you stay I want you to know you have a friemd in me.

    Love you Ryan!

Hey...just came over to say that because I wanted to let you know I'm watching your back ;)

  14. jp Says:

Who gives a shit what people think. They don't have to read your blog and those who choose to make adverse comments just do so to make you react exactly the way you have in this post.

By giving in you are letting these mischief makers win and will encourage them to do the same to others.

Grow a pair and tell them to fuck off. As for grammar I didn't notice anything but there again I'm not exactly Einstein innit.

  15. mary gresham Says:

Babe, I've told you before, dont let them win. Yeah, its a pain in the ass to put up with them and I know where you're coming from, remember, I'm a country girl from Louisiana. I don't always spell correctly or use apostrophes when I'm supposed to, same with capitalization, especially when I'm writing a text or IM. I figure if they don't understand what I'm saying, they shouldn't be reading it in the first place. I try my best to spell words right, but sometimes I just don't give a damn, hell, you've seen my emails yourself. I always manaage to figure out what you're trying to say and I never complain about it. Neither of us are dumb or illiterate, so don't ever put yourself down like that or I will come spank your butt myself.

Ryan Field, I was going to say I'm surprised at how some of the female authors are, but I'm really not. I know what was said about someone at the GRL in NOLA last year. I myself would love to know who these women are, just so I can boycott their books. I don't take kindly to my friends being bashed with words or anything else.

  16. ryan field Says:

Thanks, Mary. Thankfully, there aren't that many.

  17. Hi

I came here by way of Ryan Field's blog and I think it would be a shame if you stopped doing something you enjoyed because some crazy has too much time on her hands. And anyone who doesn't like what you write knows how to click to the next web page, don't they? No one is forcing them to read your blog the first time or to come back.
