Thought I'd share

You guys may all have seen this before so I apologise for being a behind-the-times-Brit!

I stumbled across, via the excellent www.towleroad.com, Huckabee on the Daily Show

http://www.thedailyshow.com/video/index.jhtml?videoId=213349&title=mike-huckabee-pt.-2

the link points at the second part of the interview in which Jon Stewart probes Mike Huckabee on social conservatism. Bravo to Jon for some excellently made points, especially with regards to the "lifestyle choice".

It seems to me that they were talking past each other. Maybe it was just that Huckabee didn't respond directly to Stewart, but I think it went the other way too, that instead of really following up on what Huckabee was saying, Stewart just raised new talking points. But Huckabee did not present his case well, IMO.

At any rate, I think the interview lacked depth, which is the shortcoming of most interviews of this sort, which is part of the reason I don't watch these shows.

After posting the above comment, I came across this link in somebody else's blog.

This is the sort of thing Mike Huckabee never would have had the time to say on TV.

I certainly do not expect you to agree with it, but I'm giving you the link so you can see the sort of discussion which can take place beyond the slogans and the 15-second sound bites. Obviously, since it is written from a Christian point of view, it does not speak directly to non-Christians, although it can provide some insight into how at least some of them think.
